Many remember how they had been held ransom by human-traffickers across the Sahara and in Libya, before they made the Perilous journey to the UK. Sadly, the violence that refugees face does not stop when they reach the UK. They experience an invisible inhumaneness that occurs gradually and out of sight leading into a delayed destruction that is dispersed across time. subsequently, there are serious negative psychological consequences resulting in poorer mental health outcomes
